The SEADITO consortium gathering in Riga, Latvia, on 6–7 May 2026 for its project meeting and general assembly. Hosted at the Academic Center for House of Science at the University of Latvia, the two-day meeting brought together partners from across Europe to advance the project’s work on social-ecological analysis and models for the European Digital Twin Ocean.

A packed two-day programme
Day one was kicked off with a series of focused workshops across three of the project’s core work packages. The morning opened with an introduction to the meeting’s ambitions, followed by workshops on the DAPSIR framework (WP3) and variable harmonisation led by SYKE. After lunch, the programme continued with a data workshop from IOW, a presentation on EMODnet by HCMR, and a social-ecological indicator workshop. The afternoon also featured a scenario deliverable session from FIHAC, before closing with a highlight of the day: live tool demonstrations under WP2, including the SEADITO FCM Map Tool (SINTEF), the SEADITO Map Viewer (FGI), and the Mytilus tool (AAU).
Day two shifted focus to stakeholder engagement and planning, opening with a presentation from the Latvian Ministry on Latvian maritime spatial planning stakeholders, followed by a WP5 workshop, wrap-up discussions, and next steps. The afternoon featured an excursion to the Daugava river.
